n. the last individual of a species
When I was younger, I used to get frightened that I was surrounded by very genuine looking robot-humans. Now, as I look around at my fellow “humans” I see that this is becoming a reality, as everyone around me is absorbed in their cellphone screens. It’s as if technology has snatched away our humanity. We are no longer the humans we were, instead we cut, edit, and shape our online personalities. Only allowing others to see the “perfect” parts of ourselves and when we are forced to communicate face to face with other individuals we find it difficult and uncomfortable. Technology has myriad great uses (like this blog!), but we shouldn’t let it take control of our lives.
